ocean baths title

In the 19th century a cluster of ocean baths were used for public bathing. These baths supported gender segregation with the creation of the 1830s Nun’s Pool, the 1850s Ladies Baths and the 1871 Men’s Baths. The Men’s Baths became used for mixed or continental bathing between the First and Second World Wars. Finally, in the 1960s, the Men’s Baths were developed into an Olympic-size pool and children’s pool.
